Ulverston Lantern Fest 2018 - Sat 15th Sept

2018 Lantern Workshops

Workshops for making Lanterns will be held at the Parish Rooms in Church Walk.

The Coro Hall 10th – 12th Sept 4pm – 6.30pm

Church Walk Parish Rooms 8th – 14th Sept 5.30pm – 8.30pm

The cost is £5 per Lantern for standard sized lanterns, and £10 for larger lanterns, with space to build and dry lanterns, all materials, and plenty of advice from experienced Lanterneers.

Lantern kits are also available to buy for £5 each at Appleseeds, the Laurel and Hardy Museum, The Book Shack in the Market Hall, and Costa Coffee.

The Lantern Festival organising committee is appealing for ‘crafty’ volunteers to help make the event a huge success by helping to run lantern-making sessions. We’re also seeking more volunteers to act as marshals for the procession on 16th September. No previous experience in lantern making is required – people just need to be willing to learn from Ulverston’s home-grown experts and to give up a little of their time at evenings and weekends to assist at the sessions teaching people how to make lanterns.

If you would like to volunteer at the Ulverston Lantern Festival or at our lantern-making workshops please call us on 07761 930627.
